Inclusive Education
Inclusive education is a system where disabled and normal children receive their education in the same class without any discrimination.
Integrated education means connecting all types of disabled children living in their environment to the mainstream education in primary schools. Integrated education means connecting the class who could not study according to the prevalent system or were deprived due to some kind of disability with normal children in the prevalent educational system. Integrated education is a topic of discussion on the world stage today. The birth of the concept of ‘integrated education’ or ‘education for all disabled children’ is the result of the belief that education is a basic right of man and it provides a base not only to the individual but to the entire society. All learners have the right to education, no matter what their personal characteristics or difficulties are. Integrated education focuses especially on those groups who have been deprived of educational opportunities in the past due to any reason. These groups include children who live in poverty, belong to a minority, are bound by some social constraints, live in remote areas, suffer from some disability or are in need of special educational facilities. Children falling in the next category are marginalised both in terms of education and society These children are considered to be marginalized members of the group. Generally, such children are seen to be victims of exclusion, discrimination, isolation from the mainstream, strangers among peers, etc. Such children are kept in separate classes and schools, and are even denied any kind of education.
In other words, integrated education means providing education to all children and youth without any discrimination through proper network facilities in schools, colleges and universities. Here we have to bring changes in the education system, education organization and curriculum keeping in mind the needs and abilities of such children. It is a universal fact that children who study together also learn to live together. This type of thinking will spread harmony among such children. Providing good education in such an environment can certainly be a challenging task but it is not less important. Because if we ignore human resources, then in such a situation economic and other resources will also not have any importance.
Therefore, there is a need to assess the capabilities and shortcomings of such children and analyze whether the integrated education system can be adopted or not. If not, then why? And if it can be adopted, then keeping the interest of each child in mind, what measures and methods should be adopted to make this system effective. Integrated is a subject which is important for everyone, whether it is society, class teacher, school manager, staff, local administrative area, parents of normal children or parents of deficient children.
